Liquidity
Artist Statement
Liquidity is a collection of paintings that aims to capture more than just the beauty of the water. It is a story of capitalism and my perspective of the current marketplace. Our mutual thirst for wealth drives us towards creation, the trading of ideas and labor. Money is like water, an everchanging environment of assets and liabilities. It is a collective agreement to be in debt to one another, a social contract in which we use skill as a measurement to trade our time for other people’s time. Being a participant in capitalism means working for the creation of profit and consuming the profit created. Using our ability to create profit, we price ourselves. We price ourselves by the work we create, the things we own, and the products we consume. This collection is an effort to price my own talent. It reflects my journey through the waves, experiencing the highs and lows of reality. Water has no sympathy for the ones who sail it and does not care about how hard you work building a ship.

Liquidity is a mindset of everchanging value.
Living in futures will only leave one unsatisfied with the current moment.
The most beautiful rocks are found on the shoreline because they have felt the waves a thousand times
