Hippocampus is a part of the temporal lobe and is responsible for learning and memory. During the process of creating Hippocampus It was an exercise in repetition but it ended up being a breakthrough in understanding the complexity of oil paint. Hippocampus continues to be one of my favorite and iconic pieces, and a pivotal moment where I saw the potential of Liquidity. Hippocampus is also the name of a seahorse in ancient Greek mythology. Riding on the back of this piece I printed my first set of business cards and started my professional art career.
